LED Wash Set
Expo lighting usually has a fixed colour temperature. This is perfect if you know exactly what you need. Perhaps you know this based on previous years or you already have a fully developed plan. If you don't have a lot of experience with exposition stand planning or if it’s your first time participating in an exposition, then it can difficult to determine which white colour lighting is a perfect fit with your stand. Does warm white lighting match with what you have in mind or should you go for cooler white lighting after all?
Have you been asked to make a recording? Whether it's a simple 10 second video or a complete webinar, lighting is essential when creating sleek and bright images. However, you never know exactly what certain lighting will look like on screen. This has to do with the absorption in the room, the reflections created by skin and also the sensitivity of the camera. This means that you can never really determine in advance exactly which colour temperatures are suitable for your shot.
Fortunately, we have a solution for all these issues. This set with 12 LED Wash lights is extremely suitable for use in these kinds of productions. We can’t emphasise enough how versatile this film and expo lighting really is.
Colour temperature
Warm white film lighting or cold white expo lighting? They’re both very possible with these LED washes. For most uses, manual operation of these lights will be perfectly fine. There are 2 knobs on the casing. One knob controls the dimmer of the LED Wash. With the other button you can set and adjust the desired colour temperature. When set to the warmest white position, these LED Washes provide a colour temperature of 2800K. This is warmer than most theatre lighting, where a colour temperature between 3000K and 3200K is used. You could almost call this lighting atmospheric; it’s a bit more orange or amber in colour.
At the other end of the spectrum these lamps produce a cold white glow of 5600K. This light feels very cold and is more comparable to hospital lighting. This extreme setting is not usually used as film or expo lighting- it simply feels too cold and people appear very pale under this kind of light.
Usually you’ll be using a setting somewhere in the middle. Colour temperatures around 4000K are often used for film lighting. This temperature creates a nice approximation of natural light. For expos, colder colour temps are more common- most often temps of between 4000 and 5000K. This is comparable with daylight, which makes products and objects appear how they would look outside the expo centre.
Even Spread
These LED Washes also have a very wide opening angle. The beam shines at a 120 degree angle, creating very even lighting, even when combining multiple fixtures. No hotspots and no shadows. Ideal for use as expo or film lighting.
