The QSC KLA series is the crown jewel amongst QSC's active speakers. These QSC KLA12 line array speakers are - as you would expect from QSC - equipped with a built-in amplifier and therefore extremely versatile in use. This active line array speaker can be connected with others in order to create a row of speakers- we refer to this as a ‘banana’. These QSC KLA12 speakers will amplify each other when used in this combination.  This results in higher sound pressure and allows larger groups to be operated without having to place many more speakers. Efficiency, pure and simple.

Connections

As we’ve already mentioned, the QSC KLA12 is an active speaker. The power comes from a PowerCON connector, next to which you will find an outgoing connection.  Have you stacked multiple speakers? Then it is very easy to loop the voltage from one speaker to the other. As far as the signal is concerned, each speaker has a 3-prong XLR input and output. This is based on the same principle as the power connections. Are there multiple speakers stacked on each other? Then you can easily transfer the audio signal from one speaker to the other.

QSC KLA AF12 Array Frame

You can also use these speakers individually. Creating an array - connecting the speakers - is not always necessary. If this is necessary, then you will also have to hang the speakers up. For this purpose, the corresponding QSC KLA AF12 array frame is required. This is specifically designed to ensure that the speaker can be hung safely at any desired angle. The load capacity of the array frame is of course not unlimited, which is why there are guidelines. The following is a list of what can be mounted without overtaxing the array frame (less than this is of course always permitted): - 5x KLA12 Line Array - 2x KLA181 Subwoofer + 5x KLA12 Line Array - 3x KLA181 Subwoofer + 3x KLA12 Line Array - 4x KLA181 Subwoofer

Tips

Stacking

This may be a line array system, but this speaker is also excellent on its own on a tripod or in combination with subwoofers.

Hanging
