SDI cable 3 metres
You’ve probably had to connect video equipment in the past, perhaps a projector during a presentation at the office or a newly purchased TV from the electronics store. It’s likely that you are familiar with the use of HDMI cables. This cable is used as infrequently as possible in the professional audiovisual industry. It is an excellent cable for daily use at home, but less so for a professional event. An HDMI cable is quite sensitive. In addition, the connector is not protected against accidental unplugging. There’s a good reason that professional audio-visual tech is usually fitted with SDI inputs. Generally speaking, an SDI connection is the same as an HDMI connection. However, there are a number of advantages.
SDI Properties
An SDI cable has a single core. Compared to an HDMI cable which has no less than 19 cores, the chance of interference with SDI is much smaller. In addition, our SDI cable has a braided sheath instead of a foil sheath, as is the case with HDMI cables. This allows you to coil and uncoil the cable easily without damaging it. Very suitable for events.
In addition, our SDI cables are equipped with BNC connectors on both ends. This allows you to easily connect the cable to the connections on your equipment. These BNC plugs are ideal for professional use. After attaching the plug, you need to turn it a quarter turn to lock it. This means that it’s no longer possible to simply disconnect the plug, which again lowers the risk of unexpected failures.
Cable
This SDI cable is 3 metres long and is therefore ideal for stage use. All kinds of small devices are usually connected with SDI. This cable is long enough for you to be able to connect everything together. The basis of the cable is the well-known Belden 1694F cable, and you will find a Neutrik BNC connector on both ends. Of course, this cable has a typical resistance of 75 Ohm.

Tips
Converters
Usually, only professional video equipment is equipped with SDI connections. However, you can also use this cable in combination with converters on equipment which only has HDMI connections.
Resolution
The maximum resolution this cable can handle depends on the total length of the cable. Therefore, the maximum cable length is different when using HD-SDI, 3G-SDI or 6G-SDI signals.
